Guest guest
sound to me like you child is reacting to the goat milk. this is what I experience when I get regular cow's milk (when NOT pregnant!). The body is trying to rid itself of the bad stuff. Ruby Frozen Yogart and Tummy ache? My little girl has been having a tummy ache off and on now for several days. The only thing that I can relate it to is the frozen yogart that I have made. Goat yogart, honey and SCD safe vanila. She loves it and will eat maybe 1 to 1 1/2 cups in a day. She is an extreemly picky eater and there is not very much that she does really eat well but this she does. We have been having the yogart like this for a couple of month and it has just been the last week or so that she has been complaining. It appears to me that it is like cramps for a few minutes and then goes away and then she will cramp again and then go away. Do I need to just simply take it away for a while, or just limit to smaller amount in a day? I am not sure that it does not affect Tobias also but in the mood area. Yesterday I gave him NoPHenal with it but I don't really know if it helped or not. I wish I understood some of this better. Any suggestions are appreciated. Sandy M. Guest guest
Dear Sandy, It looks like you may have done what we did! We ate too much at first....this stuff is very potent....causes " die off " and this can cause tummy ache. If not die off, May want to try enzymes...I am certain that Jody can guide you in this area. Yet the enzymes that contain " protease " make me sick (tummy ache)...so don't know what to say. Elaine was worried about " protease " with some of us who knew we had " raw " intestines...because she felt that this enzyme that breaks down protein would know the difference from the protein of our intestines and that of our food! I am being careful with this one since we know for a fact the condition of our gut. This is what we did....only eat enough for the probiotic affect....we don't " bindge " on the stuff...or even eat a bowel full......yet....don't know if we will ever be able to....will try again in a few months. As the gut heals...remember that nothing is forever/ they will heal on SCD!.....enzyme function should come back....or at the very least be not so impaired...... If it is SCD safe...more than likely it will just take time to be able to tolerate it. It took us months to get sick....it takes months to heal. May not be able to tolerate goat (yet)....may want to try coconut kefir. We are going to do this too. Also Elaine in BTVC warns of " set backs " the first year....not all smooth sailing....first year is the hardest from what I understand...we all need to hang in there. Hope this helps, Antoinette (SCD whole family....ASD and Celiac problems) Frozen Yogart and Tummy ache? My little girl has been having a tummy ache off and on now for several days. Guest guest
" May not be able to tolerate goat (yet)....may want to try coconut kefir. We are going to do this too. " Kefir is an advanced food according to Elaine. It shoudl not be consumed early in the diet and it absolutely should not be made from unripe coconuts. (Green coconuts) There is information on making Kefir on healing crow. Be sure to make it the SCD way (not the BED way). 1- 1/2 cups of frozen yogurt would provide a lot of probiotic power. How much does she eat fresh? I'd give just a few teaspoons of it frozen and see if she still gets a tummy ache. If she does, then I'd stop giving it and make nut yogurt and see if you get the same issue. Jody mom to -7 and -9 SCD 1/
