Yes, someone recently suggested Vit K1. I bought some which looks legal to

me in terms of inactive ingredients. I just had it tested kinesiologically

and it tested " no benefit, no detriment " . I'm going to try it anyway, in

spite of the " no benefit " . I may also try some Vitamin K2; I think I've

found a legal one.

Thanks for the sympathy, too!

Hi Antoinette,

This is great news, that your family members are getting over the

collagen-type problems on SCD! This gives me great hope that my daughter

can recover from this stuff, too, with SCD.

Could you please tell me exactly what supplements (including probiotics)

you are using, for you and your husband and your son who no longer bruises

so easily? Also, have you done anything special (supplement or diet) to

supply copper or zinc?

Various practitioners and experienced parents have given me several

possible explanations for my daughter's failure to progress as expected on

SCD...copper/zinc problems, Lyme Disease, casein exposure, intractable

candida (due to Lyme and/or heavy metal toxicity), food allergies. Looking

back, I think we got some not-so-good advice on legal/illegal issues, right

at the beginning. Unfortunately, I didn't know enough about what to expect

on SCD to recognize that my daughter wasn't progressing as she should have

been -- though SCD clearly did help her alot. In retrospect I think that by

three or four months into SCD, her progress leveled off and then she began

to " slip " very slowly.

At this point, I have a plan -- Review all the pecanbread and BTVC info

carefully, study up on stages, maybe have a consult with one of the SCD

counselors, solve the legal/illegal issues. More allergy testing and

treatment, rotated diet free of allergic foods. QXCI-SCIO treatment for

Lyme and everything else. Find a heavy metal doc and get help with detox --

I have info on two effective but low-risk detox protocols and want to start

one as soon as my daughter's health allows. Whew! But I'm really glad I

came to pecanbread, and especially glad you responded to my post -- I'm

feeling hopeful again!

Just a note to invite the parents who wrote me offlist, saying their

children had similar symptoms, to join in the discussion here.

Antoinette's post about her family's progress recovering from these kinds

of symptoms is encouraging!

If any of the SCD Solutions counselors are reading this thread, and have

any relevant info or encouragement, please do chime in! Or anybody else on

the list!

I read on the BBC (Health section, medical notes) that nosebleeds could be

caused by

calcium deficiency.

I used to get nosebleeds when I took too many supplements that thin the blood.

Supplements that thin the blood are: garlic, vit E, and fish oils.

I never got the permanent dents from bruises that you mentioned.

I hope that this helps.
