Guest guest
the problem with epsom salts is they feed fungus on the skin in the manner of a garden fertiliser a far better way to improve the pathway the epsom salts helps is to take molybdenum as per my molybdenum protocol in 'minerals i take' in the index of http://tinyurl.com/2csa3 you need to list the supplements, amounts taken and manufacturer it does sound a yeast/fungus/poor efa's thing > > My 3 yo son develops a detox or " viral rash " on the backs of his > knees (soft tissue that bends) when he detoxes. Guest guest
Ooh, I never even thought about Molybdenum and EFAs! I've got both in my " supplement collection. " I'll add those and look for improvement. I took the EFA capsule out last time I made up monthly packs. Thanks for the input!
Guest guest
efas are not simple, you need to discuss what you are doing more > > Ooh, I never even thought about Molybdenum and EFAs! > > I've got both in my " supplement collection. Guest guest
, I'm just curious how epson salts could fertilize anything. Salt usually dries. Could you please let me know how that works? Guest guest
it will always be hydrated on the skin to some extent depending on where it is some will crystallise and fall off, some portion will mix with skin fats and provide a good nutrient base for fungus look at the ingredient list for a vegetable fertiliser, the one i have lists magnesium sulphate on it which is epsom salts > > the problem with epsom salts is they feed fungus on the skin in the > manner of a garden fertiliser > > > --------------------------------- > Yahoo! Guest guest
My daughter had severe eczema for 1 1/2 years. I think that we finally have it under control. It is not completely gone, but we are seeing less and less of it. A few of the things that have helped with this are Dr. Yasko's EFA supplement that contains flaxseed oil and borage oil. Also, we restarted SCD with Dr. Natasha's anti- diarrhea introduction (can find it if you search the archives here). And something that seems to have really helped is a supplement called Liver Life (although I am not certain this is legal). It seems that my daughter's liver needed quite a bit more support to do all the detoxing that has to happen in her situation. I have been told that when the liver is working at maximum capacity but it's work isn't enough to handle the load, junk will begin to come out through the skin since our skin is our largest filter organ. Another ritual of ours is a bath in epsom salts (although seems to have some information that needs attention) followed by immediate application of Lasinoh cream (the stuff for nursing moms) on the rash spots. This certainly didn't resolve the problem, but I did notice that it improved it a little bit. One other tip, Elle's rash is also connected to allergies (although it is not completely connected to allergies). Her eczema was completely out of control while we were feeding her eggs. When we removed that offending food, we saw a remarkable recession of the rash (although, again, not a complete recession). Can you possibly track any food sources as a possibility? Just some ideas. Guest guest
Dear List: What I have used to help my daughter's eczema is direct application of primrose oil, she takes it orally as well My daughter Holly 5 years old has had eczema all of her life. I thought it was from her allergy to dairy. At least, it seemed I could get rid of it by removing all dairy even ghee. I started using Houston Enzymes in February with her. Since then, her eczema has increased dramatically and has not gone away even with removing all dairy. She had gone without dairy for the most part almost 3 months and completely for 4 months -- she was eczema free. Last December, I tried to reintroduce the SCD yogurt (she had only been on the SCD diet at that point for 3 1/2 months). She did pretty good but as I increased the amount she started to get slight eczema, mostly I think from cheese. I am thinking from the feedback I have heard from the list is that this eczema is die off. I completely stopped enzymes again because I am going to restart and go more slowly this time. The strange thing is it has not gone away, she off enzymes and all dairy but I have not been doing the primrose oil. I even stopped some other foods thinking they may be a problem. Thanking you in advance for any input. Guest guest
Eileen, The same thing has been happening with my ds. Horrible eczema...remove possible food allergens and it's still there. I can't see how it would be yeast since I've taken him down to just about 1 cup of carbs all day. Enzymes increase it. Starting SCD certainly increased it. Natural antifungals/antibacterial increase it. It just has to be die off. I've tried every oil and am now doing Emu Oil. Certainly doesn't hurt it but not making it better. I'm suspecting it is what Jeni Lyn mentioned. The Liver is having trouble detoxing and so the skin has been responsible for more than it's far share. I've been reading a book Allergy Free by Konrad Kail. It is not SCD but talks about ways to strengthen your mucous barriers and your bodies natural defenses against allergies (basically a focus on your respiratory system, skin, and digestive system) and Kail writes a bit on how important the liver is to supporting the skin and digestive system, which of course makes perfect sense but it wouldn't have occurred to me. We have been doing so much for ds's digestion and skin but nothing to support his liver in the process. So that's our next step and hope it helps. We have been putting Kirkman's Magnesium sulfate cream (like giving an epsom salt bath) on his back for two days now (I read what wrote after the fact. I certainly don't put it on inflamed areas and I'll watch it) and the itching and inflammation has gone down a bit. Hope this helps, Eileen Brown wrote: I am thinking from the feedback I have heard from the list is that this eczema is die off. Guest guest
Hey Eileen and , I couldn't read your entire e-mail addresses or I would send this personally. We are using a supplement with Elle for liver support with VERY GOOD results. I think it is legal, but I am uncertain about this. I don't want to post about it here incase it is not. So if you want to know more about it, e-mail me personally. I will tell you what we are using, and you can investigate the product on your own. I didn't initially see any illegal ingredients in it, but because I am still fairly new to SCD, sometimes there are details about illegals that I don't know yet. Anyway, this stuff has been -- by far -- the best supplement that I have ever tried with Elle for her eczema and bowel motility. And I felt I would be doing you a diservice if I didn't give you the opportunity to look into it. Elle's eczema was so bad that she frequently looked like a burn victim. Today her eczema is barely observable. Many things contributed to her improvement, but giving her liver this extra support has made the biggest impact in our case. Jeni Lynn mom to Elle, 20 mo.
