I don't think there are any really long term post ops on the list. This

question comes up from time to time. Before I had my surgery in May, I asked

Dr. R about this. There were people on the list who were complaining about

gainning weight back and I freaked. Dr. R said the people who were

complaining were people 7-8months post op (at that time) whose weight loss

had slowed down and had seen slight gains from time to time. I asked him if

he was aware of ANYONE who had gainned any significant weight like 50 lbs.

He said, no, no one had. I think he mentioned Francis Roundtree as one of

the earliest patients and that she had kept all her weight off. I think she

is on the contact list. So, that was comfort to me.

I have had stalls and low weight loss, and even slight gains right from the

beginning. For me, it is clear that exercise is the other part of the

equation. As soon as I started walking, the weight started coming off. I am

2+ months post op and have only lost 37 lbs, but I AM losing. The second

month was VERY slow for me, but the exercise which I started mid-month made

all the difference. I have NEVER exercised before so this is very new to me,

but seems to really help. I hope to be " caught up " to the average by the end

of the month. If not, so be it, I am doing all that I can do and would do it

again in a half a second!

Safe journey,
