Guest guest
Dinah, the only problem with priceline it that they will not give you specifics until after you purchase your ticket. I entered that I needed to fly on Monday (so I could make clinic) Well, I received my on line tickets and I left on Monday and Arrived in NC onTuesday @ 11:30 am. I had to eat those tickets. I just use Joanne on the list she has matched or beat the prices everytime I fly, which is more than my Hubby wants..LOL Try her Joanne97617@... or she has a toll free number she is the one putting the cruise together. Just look for one of her post. I just tell her what I want and she e-mails me the details. She saved me lots of money. Good luck and happy flying. If you can wait and go the week of the 24th we could meet and you can join all the crazy girls that will be there. Trisha

Guest guest
Dinah, If you're willing to possibly travel off-peak and with a connection and not make changes to your itinerary, www.priceline.com will save you lots of money. You bid on the price you want to pay and priceline finds the flight. You have to give your credit card at the time of your bid and if an airline accepts your bid, priceline buys the tickets for you. They have saved me about $1,600 over the last 3 months. My Dad was very sick in NJ and I live in TX, so I've been travelling on short notice. BTW, he's doing great now! They also save you $ on car rentals, too. The biggest drawback is you cannot change the flight times AT ALL, if you miss your flight, your forfeit it. For $1,600 it was worth a little hassle. Good luck with the airfare. Bernardine , TX > Hi, I'm considering flying to Durham next week for a clinic visit > which it looks like I need for my ins approval. Guest guest
Hi, You might try expedia.com; cheaptickets.com, or travelocity.com. They're all pretty good. Best of luck in your search. After you have your clinic visit does this mean you have to return again for the surgery? I'm waiting to hear on insurance plus a date from Dr. R's ofc. Again best of luck in your searching.........Lv, Nora in Fla. dinah@... wrote: > Hi, I'm considering flying to Durham next week for a clinic visit > which it looks like I need for my ins approval. Guest guest
Hi Nora, Thanks, I'll try those sites. Yes, it looks like I get to make two trips. Debbie at Dr R's office says BCBS of AL is the only insurance company that requires this. My luck huh? lol Dinah in Alabama > > > Hi, I'm considering flying to Durham next week for a clinic visit > > which it looks like I need for my ins approval. Guest guest
Bernardine, " Beachwalkers " I like that. I do so love the beach. We live about 1 1/2 hours from Panama City Beach, FL and go there often. Thanks for the tip about Priceline.com. I'm hoping to be able to use Priceline.com but I need to have an idea about the price so I don't cheat my self, lol! I'm just so confused about what I really need to do. le and some other girls have told me that I have to go to NC for a visit and then again for the surgery because of my ins. but my ins. has told me that. But I'm afraid if I wait for the ins to tell me I may waste several weeks, etc. So much _____ just for the insurance company to do what we are paying them each month to do!!! Are you pre or post? Guest guest
Hi Dinah, It's a good idea to try Yahoo travel and let them give you an idea of the prices, then, when you're ready book the flight through Priceline. That stinks you have to make 2 trips, but whatever works! We're the s who love the Beach, so that's how we came up with Beachwalkers - corny, ehhh. Do you live near Destin, Florida? That's where lots of Texans go for vacation. Our favorite beach is Holden Beach, NC. That's where I intend to recover from surgery for a week. I'm pre-op, almost did the dance in April but chickened out at Clinic, 2 days prior to surgery. Just wasn't my time yet. I'm ready now and hoping Dr. R will do the surgery this month. My insurance company will cover it 100%, my PCP is 100% for the surgery and can't wait to take out the staples (LOL), my employer is ready, and my family is ready. Best of luck in your travel plans and your journey to the MGB. Guest guest
Well " Beach " I'm going to try Yahoo Travel right now. I'll let you know with another post later tonight. Yes I'm about 1 1/4 hours from Destin, FL. When I was very young and lots thinner I really enjoyed the beach. Now it is where I can hardly get down to the water and back with out having to sit and rest. That is really embarassing since my entire family loves the beach and trots back and forth to the shore all day long. Not me, now I have to pack for the day and dread the trip back to the condo before ever trying to make it. Not next year though. I'm gonna " strut my stuff " all over the gulf coast. Just hope its not wrinkled and " swinging " while I'm strutting! lol! Thanks for you help. Maybe we can meet sometime. Guest guest
Kendra, We've been going there for 9 years and no one I've ever met outside of NC has ever heard of it. It is such a relaxing place. The whole family loves it there. I can't wait to get there again! Good luck in your insurance approval. Guest guest
Dinah, If you want to drive to Nashville, you can get a round trip to Raleigh-Durham for $131; American I think. We had bought this flight as I was going to come back later than my wife [bobsy not Mopsy] but when my surgery got cancelled/postponed my wife stayed and I just lost the non-refundable ticket. Airlines don't like you to do this but I was just going to use " one leg " of the round trip and never show up for the 2nd leg. We both drove up from Alabama to NC but Bobsy was supposed to go back earlier for our kids dance recitals. Anyway, round trip was $131 and one way would have been $387-----go figure.
