Guest guest
Dear Debbie, Our DAN! said that some autistics have the opposite. It is a function that goes wrong in the vestibular part of the brain or something. Just like you said. For those who spin...it is under active...so they spin and flap their hands to stimulate it. For those who have this part of the brain that is over active, they may have seizures...and can't stand movement. It use to get worse at night for her. She would have delirium like seizure spells and could not recognize who we where. Very frightening. I feared she would never come back....sometimes lasting up to 45 minutes! This has past thank God to SCDiet. We now just wait for her to heal more. The brain just gets screwed up in different ways for some ASDERs It is torture for us to " make " her swing or spin...like some autistics. She can't even stand our own hands flapping in front of her face. So we carry her around in a sling all the time to comfort her problem. Good thing she is small! She is getting better though, wanting to walk more and is learning to trust her world....that I imagine is " spinning " already!.
