Hello, everyone,

I am thinking of starting the SCD diet with my ASD 4-yr boy, well, actually been

thinking and thinking it for about 6 months now...

Only I just do not know how to get it start - I know it supposed to start with

soup and a bit eggs, and cooked carrots, according the intro diet instruction...

but my son does not want to drink the soup ... my husband says just use the

syringe to feed him, like we do with his supplements ... but this is not the

everlasting final solution, isn't it?

Is it going to be soup, soup, and soup every meal for 2-3 days, like that?

Anyone cares to share some experience with me as how you got start on this

diet...

TIA.

Hi ,

We just came off of the intro portion of the diet (well, still

primarily eating those foods and adding in stage 1) and my son

didn't drink or eat the soup at all(not for lack of trying on my

part). He lived primarily for 5 days on eggs, some cooked carrots,

roasted turkey and mini meatballs made from ground beef (and I hid

some other stuff in it), and some homemade pear sauce. We did not

incorporate any of the dairy since we were GFCF prior to starting.

I believe Jody posted a link to the intro diet - find things you

know your son will eat off of that list. I know I was worried that

Mason would really only eat eggs, but the great ladies on the list

helped me w/some sneaky solutions that work - and with the issue I

was most worried about...he didn't starve either! ;)

Good Luck!
