Guest guest
Hi Lynn, Cod liver oil would be vastly better for baby. But only certain brands -- Nordic Naturals is ok but VERY LOW IN VITAMIN D. Quantum (from Radiant Life) would be the one I'd use. Should be put directly into baby's mouth (not mixed with milk in a bottle). Radiant Life could suggest an amount. But -- if mom's diet is adequate (is she taking CLO? that would be a good idea, along with X-Factor Butter Oil from Radiant Life), why would a supplement be necessary for baby? When mom is well-nourished, breastmilk should virtually always be adequate for baby's needs. (Mother Nature is smart -- she doesn't make big mistakes about something as important as breastmilk!) Guest guest
Human milk is the best thing that ever happened to human babies. Cows milk the best thing that ever was created for baby cows. The longer you can give your child human milk the luckier they are! The average age for natural weaning for the human infant/child is three years old....I know that not all of us can or want to do this...but this is what mother nature originally called for. The longer the better, get support if your family doesn't support your choice to give your baby this wonderful gift of future HEALTH. And to think that you are SCD too! WHAT A LUCKY BABY! Think of it this way human milk is LIQUID GOLD to human babies! For KiKi it was a life saver because all the formulas made her so sick I am certain she would have ended up on a G tube! I am not kidding here...I never intended to nurse " forever " . The lactation consultants at MEMORIAL HOSPITAL SAVED HER! no thanks to her doctors who wanted to put her on neocate...we are very fortunate to have been guided...it could have ended up in a night mare.....cornsyrup puts her in the hospital! Human milk, once I took all dairy and grain out of my diet did not! Food for thought, Antoinette (Day 37 entire family SCD....still nursing two one year olds/on with Celiac Disease and ASD, the other one with Hyperekplexia/mild Cp problems this one is my adopted baby!/ Plus I just gained six pounds in the last 37 days! YEAH!...this is a good thing! RE: OT - Question about vit D and 2 month old Hi Lynn, Cod liver oil would be vastly better for baby.
