Guest guest
I just love your name, I loved it the first time I heard it! You are an inspiration to men everywhere....I have told my husband about you. As you know, I think he e-mailed you back a week ago! YEAH! For families fighting this autistic thing with diet! I have been on medication for years (literally 14 pills at one time/day)....never worked helped much....Yes, I am a " rain women " of sorts! I feel better today than I have in my life...and they say it is only going to get better! Even our four year old son and two one year olds help with the cooking...no joke! Thank God I have a husband who helps! Nothing is better than bunch of men in the kitchen cooking REAL FOOD! Hope your ex understands how this works......will be throwing out prayers. Went this STRICT SCD route...intro for almost 7 painful days.... due to Celiac Disease (gluten free and casein free and other " cave man " ways....DID NOT WORK, we messed around for 14 months...don't advice it!). Boy did we have die off! Feeling much better these days, but a ways to go. Also have in family: ADD, ADHD, ASD, and other neurological problems related to a damaged gut!....all healing and feeling better each week!....literally witnessing a miracle in our 22 month old ASD daughter! Our son is a different child! What a blessing for Elaine and this group!) Even my hubby is nicer...ADD and use to have rage attacks! But don't tell him I said so! Warm regards, Antoinette (Day 37 of STRICT SCDiet/ entire family of five) Re: Hi, Single Dad Newbie Needs Help!!! Thanks everyone for the advice... Sorry for the long delay in replying, been busy the last weeks... We ARE going to do this...i have been cooking for the first time in my life and (other than difficulty in finding time) i am getting a charge out of it...we are eating home cooked really good for us food instead of TV dinners, hot dogs, popcorn, canned stuff, fast food, etc, and its much better to eat too! I have been doing it for two weeks but ex wife isnt yet doing it when she has my daughter, and April 1st is D-Day for both of us going 100%...so far (maybe since she has only been 50% on it) there hasnt been any kind of difficulty...i havent done the intro thing either... Only have about 3 dishes so far (other fruit and nut concoctions) Beef stew, chicken with honey/mustard mix baked and awesome salads... I have discovered a very close store called 'Sprouts' that is not only tons better quality and friendlier than the regular grocery store, but also CHEAPER (its every bit as good as Whole Foods, we love it!) I have also discovered Natasha -McBride and ordered her book " Gut and Psychology Syndrome " ...she has been a revelation...here is the link...we are going to start probiotics and get a water filtration system also... http://www.medinform.co.uk/<http://www.medinform.co.uk/> ALSO...i discovered the next link up, that this diet is grounded in our past more than ANY other diet...its the ONLY TRUE diet out there if we are serious about eating right...its what we are evolved for...check out this link if you havent found it already... http://www.paleodiet.com/<http://www.paleodiet.com/> Randy the Rainman > Hi yall... > > Randy from Dallas here...we are starting the SCD diet (were only > casein free previously and were going GF/CF but decided i liked the > basis for the SCD 'caveman' diet more... > > I am a single dad who is recently divorced and my cooking (if you can > call it that) in the past was microwave-prepackaged land... > > I will be asking lots of questions as we start this thing for real > now...so, here are my first few... > > 1) Looking for pre-made SNACK foods (something to replace the pretzels > and popcorn that she used to eat)...cost IS an issue, but i have so > little time i wont be able to make meals AND snacks from scratch. > Course, there are fruits, but i want stuff i can buy thats crunchy if > possible... > > 2) What are some breakfast ideas, quick and simple stuff...dont have > time to cook in the mornings except on the weekends, but i am afraid > that a banana or something like that wont be enough for > breakfast...all simple quick ideas wanted! > > 3) What to pack for school lunches? > > 4) Places to order pre-made stuff like snacks, etc? > > I am very lucky in one way, she LOVES fruits and veggies and that sure > helps! > > Thanks! > Randy 'the Rainman' (was my nick years before i had an autistic > daughter since i was so neat and orderly!) > > > > > > > > For information on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, please read the book _Breaking the Vicious Cycle_ by Elaine Gottschall and read the following websites: > http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info<http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/\ > > and > http://www.pecanbread.com<http://www.pecanbread.com/> > > > > >
