Guest guest
Flax seed powder is illegal on SCD. Flax oil is okay, but not the ground meal or powder. You might try beets (even though they are stage 3)... well cooked, pureed...or fresh beet juice. Beets seem to be effective for constipation. Spinich coming through undigested... hmmmm... that would tell me that you need to pull that back or prepare it differently. You might need to puree the spinich, into a soup or stew, if you really want to include it. Or cut it up very fine. Maybe he is not chewing very well? Are the cucumbers and tomatoes peeled, de-seeded, and well cooked? Patti, mom to Katera Request for recommendations Hi!, My son and I are in Week5 of the SCD diet. We are still in stage 2 of the foods recommended. Our son's constipation has slowed the introduction of new foods. We have tried the following for his constipation 1. Prune nectar with tomato+ butter nut squash + pear juice + vitamin C ( 2 times a day) 2. Flax seed powder - he gets a tea spoon each time he has juice ( total about 5 times a day) I have administered enema, with no luck. His stomach continues to bloat. He is now pooping every other day. So far, I have only found undigested spinach in his poops. He seems to handle grilled/stewed chicken, pancakes w/eggs, tomatoes, cucumber puree. We have an appointment with a pediatric GI in 4 weeks. We could not get an appointment sooner. He is currently taking the following supplements: 1. DMG ( 125 mg/day), folinic acid 400mg/day 2. Super Nu-thera 2.5 ml/day 3. Nordic Natural EFA 2 tea spoons a day 4. MgS04 cream 4g/day ( rubbed on his shoulder) Thank You for your suggestions to my earlier requests, we have tried all of them, seems to make no difference. Sincerely, Srini ( dad), Anuraag ( 3) SCD week5
