Guest guest
Nystatin's not very strong, I have found others to be more effective, like Ketoconazole or Diflucan. But Nysatatin can be a helpful part of a long-term yeast management strategy. Do you know what the particular strains of yeast are that you're dealing with? Some strains are resistant to Nystatin. An OAT or a CSA test can pinpoint what yeast she has and help you to target the treatment. Suzanne > > That is really helpful. I have noticed that many DAN doctors use something called " Transfer > Factor " to boost the immune system. Guest guest
Hi Kerri, We used transfer factor (an " all-purpose " kind) from 4Life Research for a long time. Dr. Natasha -McBride recommended it. I can't say for sure that it helped my daughter, or helped her with candida. But now that I think about it, it seems like her candida did get significantly worse after we stopped it. (I'll have to go back and look at my records and see if I'm remembering right.) A few years ago I took a kind of transfer factor specifically for HHV6 (Human Herpes Virus 6) and when I stopped taking it, within a week or two I had an HHV6 rash and a return of viral headaches that had disappeared while I was on it. So that transfer factor was definitely doing something for me. I think, but I'm not sure, that I've heard there's a transfer factor specifically for candida. (I wouldn't know where to find it, though, unless 4Life Research has it.) Kayla
Guest guest
Hi Kayla! Do you mind explaining " transfer factor " to me, or telling me where I can learn about it or both? Our nutritionist told me that it was something I should get educated about, but the one time I sat down to try investigating it, I couldn't find any information. E-mail me off-list since this is OT. jlknopp@.... Thank you! Jeni Lynn (gastrointestinal problems) SCD 2 month mom to Margeaux, 6 yr. (heavy metal toxicity, add, gastrointestinal problems) , 3 yr.
