Guest guest
Hi, This is Kim. We made it back home yesterday after 10 days in Durham. My surgery was 7/19 and went great. I had a lap chole(gallbladder removal) 4/19 of this year and the mgb was much easier and less painful. I want to encourage all of you pre-ops to fight for this is you have decided this is the surgery you want. I work with surgeons every day and have not met one with the compassion, caring and skills that DR.Rutledge has. I have been a nurse for 16 years working in ER and Recovery room so I have met many Doctors. Tomorrow I go back to work to face the scrutiny of many Drs who said I was crazy to have this done. I have to brag on Dr. Rutledge for one more thing. My husband and I had our 10 year old son with us on our trip to Durham and when we were in our preop consult with Dr. Rutledge we got ready to leave and my son had a question about the video Dr. Rutledge had shown and DR.R. took the time to answer his question. My son told me later, Mom, it's ok for you to have the surgery This Dr. is very smart. One of the best parts of this process is all the people you get to meet who are in the same boat as you. Our last night there we got to have dinner(broth of course) with Judi, Margie, and due for surgery today. Tiara Trish and Lori who are 6 weeks post op and the rest of us from the 19th and 20th. GOOD NEWS yesterday at clinic I had lost 13 lbs and on the 7 hour ride home I had no swelling of my ankles which is a first for me in a long time. Sorry this is so long but I know its back to the old grind tomorrow with a NEW ME. THanks for listening, Kim Godfrey FHPGunny1@...
