Guest guest
OK, remember I'm 10 days post-op and probably running into that grumpy stage. I know I would have liked to have eaten the country fried steak with gravy and mashed potatoes the family had tonight. Having said that, Kris - I understand your frustration with people not responding. When I asked for contacts, some people responded and some didn't. I just moved right on to the next person that sounded like someone I'd want to email. I didn't have much trouble at all getting all my contacts and then some in short order. BUT - it really bothers me that someone might " turn me in " to Dr. R for not getting back to them on an email OR hint that those who don't respond aren't giving anything back. How do you know that these folks haven't answered hundreds of emails already or that they are living very busy, active lives and don't check their email? I for one, don't intend on sitting around on my fat ass in front of the computer when it is no longer fat. I suppose this bothers me because I can guarantee that I won't respond to many emails once law school starts next month. I won't be getting online for that matter. There is more to life than the MGB group, particularly when you haven't been living it for awhile. (Note that I love this group!) I feel strongly I'm doing my part to " give back. " I've told anybody that would listen about this surgery and given out Dr. R's email address many times. I would be offended if someone turned me in for not answering a contact request. There are over 700 of us who have had this surgery. Move right on to someone else. Donna
Guest guest
I agree!!! I am new and sent out a hello in channel and got two wonderful responses. then I hit the old list and sent out another 25 personal hellos and got enough for my 10 contacts in a matter of a day and a half. I know I don't always get on here as much as I would like to. Now if I had hit all 700 on the list and still could not come up with 10 yeah I would have been disapointed. Remember Dr. R wants the effort to be on our part it shows how committed we are to having this surgery. I can't wait I have just about everything together and hopeing as soon as the insurance get the Dr. info form Dr. R that I will fly right through. Keeping my fingers crossed and praying hard!!!!! Thanks to all of you that have helped me in my search!!!!! > OK, remember I'm 10 days post-op and probably running into that grumpy stage. > I know I would have liked to have eaten the country fried steak with gravy > and mashed potatoes the family had tonight. > > Having said that, Kris - I understand your frustration with people not > responding.
