Hi Kendra,

My doctor was all excited about the MGB at first, but then he got involved with

a diet/exercise/lifestyle change doctor here in the area, and suddenly he

changed his tune and started telling me the same thing your doctor said to you.

My doctor will take care of me after the surgery, but he would rather that I

would try (yet again!) to lose weight through diet and exercise.

Just keep in mind that your doctor doesn't have to want you to have the MGB.

He/she just has to agree to take care of you afterward by monitoring your health

through blood tests and things like that. They really just have to say they

will support you medically, and that you are healthy enough to survive the

surgery, they don't have to be excited about the MGB.

I hope you can find a supportive doctor. I have had a lot of obstacles

throughout my journey toward the MGB, but in the end each one has worked out,

and I felt so good about the MGB from the beginning that I believe that my

Heavenly Father has been guiding and helping me to have this from the start. I

know from experience that even when something is right for us, that doesn't

always mean the obstacles are removed, it just means that if it is right, and we

do the best we can, then God will help us get past the obstacles.

Good luck to you! I'm sure there's a doctor out there who will help you! Let

us know how it goes.

Kendra - I had to try four different doctors before I found one who approved and

would follow me afterwards - he is wonderful - fully approves and wants the best

for me, and this is the best!!! I called the offices and inquired about the

surgery and follow up - never made an appointment until I hit this guy - it was

worth it!!! Keep trying!!! Joanne in Ohio
