I doubt Dr R will prescribe any tranquilizer or anxiolytic. He discontinued my Xanax two weeks prior to surgery. He wants us to be alert and able to back out if we have reservations. Also, that class of drugs interacts with the anesthesia you will be given to induce sleep. You can ask, but don't get your hopes up. Try meditation, it helped me, and I am about as hyped as they come. le

Guest guest
Joanne, They will give you a gram of Versed in the holding area. But, I am not sure if Dr R would want you to have it in the weeks before surgery. Email him, he will tell you. le
Guest guest
Debbie, I felt the same way like I was having surgery cause I just didn't look thin enough. I thought about death more the first week after surgery then I did before. I was so afraid of leaks or something. Im six weeks out now and Im feeling great eating everything I want in very small portions. When the good Lord is ready for us then we go. Just be positive and know all our prayers are with all of you that are having the surgery. Love from Fla
Guest guest
How about a little Versed???? I mean just pre-op. I had a lumpectomy a few years ago (benign, thank God) and was about to jump off the gurney until they gave me some Versed - it was quite nice and my anxiety just vanished!!
