Guest guest
Hi, all: Just wanted to share a tiny victory with you all since you're really the only people that understand how our addicted little ones eat (pre SCD). My kids and I (husband away most meals...works late) are SCD legal now for a couple of weeks. Wesley was eating only 3 foods...peanut butter balls, bananas, and muffins from Taste and Tradition. He had since " given up " on everything except peanut butter balls leading me to think he was addicted to peanut butter. So, I've decided to eliminate (or greatly reduce, at least) that food, which means we have the muffins and bananas! Anyway, the victory is because before when Wesley would eat a muffin he would just pick out the tiny bit in the middle and leave the " crust " which gradually got thicker and thicker if you can picture it. Then he would throw the " shell " out and grab a new muffin! It's been a trial to get him to eat a whole muffin and I've had to bake a batch every morning before school due to the rate that he " wastes " them! What I did was, I bought silicone muffin pans...they are microwave safe and when you microwave baked goods, no " crust " forms! you are left with ALL MIDDLE! Plus I used the mini muffin size which I think helped him too with the bite sized muffins. Which ever it was, I think we have a winner...I just made a dozen and there are already only 2 left! WOOHOO! I think I'm also going to experament with making pancakes in the microwave on silicone...perhaps that will help them come out " pretty " . I'll keep ya posted. --Mel Wes 4.5 yo PDD-NOS Phoebe 2.5 yo quirky
