Guest guest
I see several SCD recipes that look really good, but call for raw egg whites that never cook. I am really germ phobic, but wondered if this is truly a concern or not? I get my eggs fresh from my brother. He does not give his chickens antibiotics, shots or anything, but does feed them grain and flax seed occasionally just for me (longrunning joke with us where I used to try to hide flax in everything I baked for my family and he found out and refused to eat my cooking anymore!) I've seen the powdered pastuerized egg whites called (I think) " Just Whites " . Are these SCD legal or does the processing cause trouble? I don't want to give my son anything to hurt him, so have avoided these recipes so far. Prior to this we were egg free for over 2 years so this whole having eggs thing is a relearning process. Anyone have advice as to safety/legality of either choice? Thanks, Janet, mom to Cody- 5 yrs old- SCD since 4-17-06, restarted right with intro 5-21-06, multi food allergies, asthma (currently off meds), leaky gut, MB12 shots 1 1/2 yrs, dairy & soy free 4 yrs, GF plus more 2 years....
