I had my surgery last week, and I know they did not take roll or anything so

as to CONFIRM there was a family member there. I truly do not think it is

REQUIRED, but rather it is preferred, which i sunderstandable since you would

like for your family to be as well informed as they can be. It really helped

my husband, and he enjoyed the clinic and hearing all of the things he will

be living with! : ) But really, it is not required. There are many people who

go alone - - - not everyone can get their family to Durham! : ) Hope this

helps!

They won't schedule youuntil you have insurance approval or you schedule as a

self-pay. I scheduled as a self pay until I got my insurance approval. I knew

that with or without insurance I was getting this done! : ) Lucky for me,

insurance came though! : )

Dinah,

Hang in there gal. I went through that too. They had my packet for 2 weeks

before I went to clinic to see Dr. Rutledge. I am not currently scheduled

for surgery, but Lord willing and the creek don't rise I will be there at the

beginning of August or the 2nd week. I am currently losing weight to get

within his limits. Just be glad that God sent you to Dr. Rutledge and that

you are going to be on the other side sooner than you think. You are in my

thoughts and prayers.

With Love,

Lara M. Akin (BMI 63)

Trying to get my weight down

to do the dance with Dr. Rutledge.

Hello all,

My name is . I am 29 mother of four.

I had Lap RNY Proximal 4 months ago. I am doing

very well. I am now down 83 pounds.

Well I have a friend who is over weight and is really bumed

out and asked me to help her. She has no insurance. She dose

have medical. She asked me to help her find a doc that dose take medical.

I was wondering if anyone has ever heared of it being covered by medical?

I myself have BC PPO. I had no problems with them I was approved within

1 wk. I told her to buy a plan from BC.. I feel for her cause I remember how

bad I felt.

Anyone have any tips for hair loss? I know it's a side effect and it dose

pass but I am getting

alittle worried now.

Thanks :o)
