Guest guest
Ok guys! I had some WOWS today and needed to share them with those that can appreciate such events. We are on the second week since restarting SCD with some Dr. Natasha (Gut and Psychology Syndrome) tweeks. Someone had asked earlier to explain these tweeks. Basically, it is the same as Elaine's version with very minor adjustments. 1) For every meal you serve a meat, a meat broth, and a pureed, easily digested vegetable (like squash). You do this until you get formed stools and then continue it for two weeks after that point. 2) There is no fruit allowed during this introduction time. 3) As with Elaine's version, eggs are acceptable during this introduction (although we, personally, can't use them due to Elle having SEVERE IgG reactions on her ELISA test). After this two week or more introduction, then you procede with introducing foods as we are all familar with in BTVC. This information is via Kayla (fellow listmate) who has had phone consultations with Dr. Natasha. [sidenote: Kayla said that this intro diet is not in her book. So if you are interested in more of this intro, contact Kayla]. Well, first of all . . . Elle's eczema is completely gone. This time I am hoping it stays gone. I do think a lot of this has to do with the introduction of Yasko's EFA supplement which includes flaxseed oil and borage oil, but I cannot deny that I feel like our simultaneous restart has helped to give eczema the boot. Elle has slightly red cheeks today where her eczema used to be. But I think this may be due to a phenol reaction to the squash we are eating. . . but NO BUMPS OR CHAFFING OR OOZING OR SLOUGHING! Next, today when Elle woke up from both of her naps today. She began calling, " Mama! Mama! MAMA! " She has never done this before. She rarely ever says my name without being prompted even when I am in her presence. So for her to call for me from another room when I am out of her sight is really big. Then, she spoke her first sentence today (I think). She was trying to bring her pull-along snail up the stairs today. Being that pull toys do not glide easily up stairs, the string popped out of her hand at one point, and the toy fell half way down the steps. She turned sad and looked at me and said, " Hup peese! " I am pretty sure that she meant, " Help please. " Golly ned! I am so excited. And she wants to interact so much with me that I can't get anything done. She is bring me a new " boop " to read every 3 minutes, pointing and labeling all that she can in the pages. Hooray for Elle! Days when they are " with it " are the best!
