Guest guest
Hi all, I had my surgery on Monday, July 17th, and came home Tuesday night. I had trouble with one of my port sites bleeding a lot (it was scary at first)but I'm doing fine now. I've not experienced any nausua or vomiting and so far no gas pain. I'm not ready to dance a jig yet because I still feel really weak. The most annoying thing for me has been an awful taste in my mouth that I haven't been able to get rid of (sort of like morning breath X 10). I've noticed on posts to the group that some of you are planning on coming to Durham alone due to choice or a mix-up in plans. My best advice is to bring someone with you. It will make things a lot easier. I couldn't have driven myself home if I had wanted to. I appreciate all your prayers and support and I'm glad it is over. I almost forgot. Dr.R did my surgery in 35 mnutes so I guess we set a new record.

THIS SITE IS WONDERFUL. JOYCE Hi Joyce, I am 5ft tall and weigh 255 lbs with a BMI of 49. So far, the whole procedure has been easy. My surgery was done in 35 minutes according to what Dr.R told my family. He came by and spoke to me when I was in the holding area and I don't remember much after that, until I woke up at 11pm that night. I have had no nausua or vomiting and no pain (that I can remember). My family said I experienced some feelings of nausua after surgery, but I never did throw up. I'm feeling pretty good today except for being really tired. If the other type of surgery you are talking about is open I would really think long and hard before I went that way. Dr.R gets my vote as the doc who will give you any information you want, good or bad. I've had it really easy so far. The lady in the room with me did not. She was sick a couple of times and couldn't even keep her meds down. Of course, she went home before I did because one of my ports was bleeding so I had to get back in bed and stay a little longer. Everyones experience is going to be different. I wish you much success in your search for the right weight loss surgery for you.

Guest guest
Hello suzanne, I'm already in the process of getting the information and getting started on the process of having the surgery done with DR. R. i've been going through the site and reading all the messages that are posted, and it seems everyone is doing great and really giving this doctor a good report. yes, i'm going to switch, i've already been approved for the other, but that shouldn't be any problem, switching doctors. my bmi is 59, and i'm really needing this surgery done, i'm 5'3'' and 324. so thanks for the information. joyce
