Help! I need help!

I am on day 8. I also have a vaginal yeast infection (sorry if that is too much

personal

information) which started before I started SCD and every time it flares I also

get hives.

(Boy, that is strong confirmation that allergic reactions are related to out of

control yeast!)

I am so itchy! Between the yeast infection and the hives, I keep getting woken

up around 2

a.m. and can't get to sleep for several hours. I am so sleepy and between the

sleepiness

and the itchiness I am irritable!

I just took some Benedryl 2 hours ago. (I didn't even check if it was SCD legal

because I

am so miserable I knew that it was either Benedryl or go to the doctor to get

prednisone,

which I didn't want to do.)

So, my questions:

1. I have treated my yeast infection with a kit (the cream) but it is still

here although it has

lessoned. Should I just assume that it is dying off due to me being SCD now or

should I go

to the doctor for stronger treatment? Should I give it 10 days to see if SCD

can bring down

the yeast infection enough to avoid treatment?

2. What should I do about the hives? Continue with the Benedryl or go get some

prednisone.

3. Recently someone wrote that it is bad to suppress allergic reactions because

the

allergic reactions will just show up elsewhere. Is this a generally accepted

theory? Is it

proven? I am trying to decide it I should follow that advice or just give in

and get

treatment. I have avoided doing anything about the hives (even avoided putting

on a

cortisone creme until last night, when I couldn't stand it anymore).

4. I don't know what foods to eat or to avoid. I can't tell if the hives are

because of

something I've eaten or not.

What advice do you have?

Carolyn
