Wanted to share SCD history/a long one.

Hey guys,

I wanted to share with the group that I learned something very

interesting about BTVC...been talking to my friend at " lucy's

kitchen " ...Lucy R...who was saved by BTVC and SCD!

Sydney Valentine Haas M.D. was the doctor who knew about the

origional " cure " for Celiac Disease. This was in the 50's when

doctors and scientists where not " brain washed " into believing that

Celiac Disasea was just about Gluten and IgG and IgA reactions to

gluten! Explaining why so many of us have negative celiac

panels/blood work...yet still have damaged intestines!

This was when ALL malabsorption syndrome where classified

as " celiac " ....and with the SCDiet that they came up with they where

healing children long ago by the dozens!!!!!...and then came

the " treatment " for Celiac Disease the gluten free diet...and

thousands slipped through the cracks....like my family did....ending

up with permanent conditions such as ASD and mental illness!

The other interesting thing is....S.V. Haas in his book Elaine

references (see back of book/references ued, for title), he claimed

that children with celiac disease (the old way of looking at it),

demonstrated not only symptoms of malabsorption, malnutrition...they

also suffered neurological problems and personality traits of

schizophrenia, autism, bi-polar and at the very beginning of the

diesease where considered to be shy, irritable, sometimes

even " bully " pevish children! That as the brain disintagrated

thanks to " sarving " ....the children became very very sick in

deed...describing the ASD problems we see today! Not to mention

being short statured and low in wieght, low muscle tone (hypotonia),

speech delays...and having bones that break easily!

No wonder why some of us are very protective about changing the ways

of the SCDiet...it has over 50 years of working...without enzymes,

or chelation therapies...I am not saying that some of us should not

take advantage of these things if it personaly makes since to us to

do so (medical invention has evolved since the 50's)...I am just

saying that it was not needed in the 50's when they where saving

children like ours...and bringing them back to a life of normalcy.

Something to think about in light of the high costs of some of these

supplements and therapies that are not covered by insurance.

It is my personal belief from my own experience...that some damage

is irreversible...I have permanent learning disability, dyslexia and

other problems related to AS and perception handicaps. My brain

simply does not work the same as others. I see things in

pictures...and I talk better when writting! Talking my IQ seems

much lower! To this day I have an unusual gift of being able to do

art work upside down!

Some of our kids may benifit greatly...but in light of

being " missed " like me, will also suffer from irreparable damage.

This is heart breaking....but none the less...we still can benifit

from the SCDiet! God knows me and my husband are...we have

countless AS (asperger a form of mild autism) traits...and symptoms

of permanent damage....no wonder why we both ened up being confirmed

Celiac's with autistic like kids...who have Celiac too....and AS our

selves!

KiKi is very lucky to have been caught so young...and I am truely

sorry to all who have thought that her miracle could be

anybodies...you see our son who will be five this may....is showing

improvement on SCD...but already is showing signs of permanent

damage thanks to being missed as long as he was! Even his legs bow

with the signs of rickets like mine did...it took three surgeries

each to straighten my bowed legs! Thanks to being missed as haivng

absorption problems! At the time they claimed it to

be " congenital " ...what did they know! Bone scan now proves

otherwise!

We will teach him...since his parents know (since we where missed

for close to 40 years!)...that being different is not all that

bad...teahing him to concentrate on his good traits...and not the

bad...showing him that it is not the end of the world to be AS!

I am getting S.V. Haas book from an inter library loan...I want to

read what Elaine knew!!!! Very Very curious...want to know...before

we see DAN!

(2 months SCD due to Celiac Disease that lead to ASD in all of us,

finnaly healing when no other way worked...and we tried for over 1
