My GI prescribed Prevacid for me, thinking that it might help with

my pancreatitis pains. I took it for 2 weeks, and it didn't make a

bit of difference, so I quit. I'm sorry, though, I don't remember that

it caused me any weird tastes in my mouth.

I take Nexium and was told the same as by my doc. Something to

do with the fact that the Viokase will be broken down too soon in the

digestive system if there is too much stomach acid. The Viokase need

to get past the stomach and into the intestine to work properly. For

me, the Nexium also helps somewhat with the nausea. I've not had a

bad taste though. Hope that helps!
