Holly,

I'm so glad you took the time to show little Joey love and concern.

We are a foster family and have heard and seem some awful things.

You never get used to hearing all the awful things some people do to

kids. Being a foster parent can be heart breaking. However; the

rewards of it far outweigh the things you have to cope with. At

least that is how it has been in our experience so far. We haven't

been doing it for all that long. We have had eight foster kids in

the last two years. All of them have been short term except for

one. She is 17. She came to live with us when she was 15. There

have been some real challenges with her. It has all been so worth it

though. Can't begin to explain it. I love her very much. Her name

is a. She is the oldest we have had. The youngest was a 4 week

old baby. He was a doll. We only had him three weeks. I couldn't

handle a baby and working full time. He didn't sleep well. He was

in a body cast from a broken leg. I literally went on 2-3 hours of

sleep a day for the 3 weeks we had him. I had to lay in my recliner

with him laying on my chest just to get him to sleep a couple hours a

night. I finally called and told them they had to move him. I was

afraid I would fall asleep and let him fall off my lap at night.

He's still in foster care. He is 10 months old now. We still see

him every couple of months. We are going to have him for a few hours

this weekend. Sorry, about going on and on about this everybody, as

you can tell, kids and foster parenting is one of my passions.

I just wanted to let Holly know that I think it is really cool that

she took the time for a little boy she didn't know and that we will

be praying for him and his family.
