YEAH!! I am sure you will be fine. You do know where to hand your concerns

& I am so very happy it did help you. Our mind-set can control so very much

of how we actually feel medically .Stress , you don't need any more of. I

hold you in ALL my special thoughts.

Ask the TX gal (Rn coor.)if they could have " AMY G " talk to you. She had

hers done there. Is a doll & loves to talk about all of it . She worked in

eye surgery for years here in FL . & was active in our support group

too....Also , even worked at Duke prior to her TX as well. If you tell them

she was from FL . , they will know who it is . they can have her call

you------- have to watch out for HIPPA you know. .If they cant or wont, I

will get her to.You & she would hit it off great!!

My Update....TX Eval

Hi All,

I copied the info off the Duke website and will be giving it to my doc

tomarrow. I got all emotional tonight. I don't even know why. I ended up

getting

out of the house and visting a friend and going to church with her to help

clear

my mind.It helped.

I will keep you updated as to how the process is coming along. I hope the

biggest step of getting listed is the hardest mentally.....I know the actual

day

of TX will be an emotional rollar coaster but admitting that you are not

gonna

make it on your own lungs much longer and admitting it and whatnot I think

is

the hardest part.

But I know this is for the best. Actually it sems a little less stressful

knowing all the Duke Post-TX people here and whatnot.....Plus not having to

relocate.

I had a friend ask about getting on the list at UNC and they told her it

would be 6 yrs of waiting ! ! ! ! The CF doc told her this.Needless to say

when it

gets to be that time.....which it'll probably be in 2 yrs or so.....if her

PFTs can stay at 37% she'll be going to Duke.

I go to see the doc today at 9am. I think Ill be on IVs for another week. My

lungs are still pretty crummy.

Although a funny thing happened tonight. When I was at my friends house we

were playing some video games. Well I got up to leave and realized that her

cat

had eaten my IV line. Its a CADD 24hr Amblutory pump so a whole dose of

Stinky

Ceftaz was all over the floor and her chair. I can't believe the cat did

that...and Ceftaz of all things.....her mom came running out (Beth was

yelling

for her to get up) and was like " Oh my God, this is the God awfullest Stinky

stuff ever. " They were all worried about my line but it only messed up the

line

to the bag...exextension tubing and whatnot was fine. I thought it was

humorous...LOL

Pets can surely put a smile on your face...it was almost as bad,if not

worse,

than when my dog ate through an IV plug while it was still running...She ate

the whole thing....the whole thing came out too....LOL

Anyways,I will keep you posted.
