Guest guest
DATE: Feb. 7, 2003 FROM: Carroll , Executive Director As the new Executive Director of Cystic Fibrosis Research, Inc., I am working wholeheartedly to generate support for CF research. I also believe it is important that we continue to be an active community resource for children and CF adults, their families, and the medical support system to share information that will lead to healthier, more productive lives. What our organization is able to accomplish is largely the result of volunteer efforts. It is also due to monies raised to support our investments in research and education. Many of you have found ways to support this mission of finding a cure for cystic fibrosis and making each day brighter for those with CF. You support one another as caregivers; you support causes that raise money for CF; you volunteer your time and energies for different organizations. Thank you. This message is an opportunity to speak to those who have time to go the extra mile, and are seeking another way to help. At this time we at CFRI are gearing up for our most important fundraiser: the Mother's Day Tea. Printed invitations will be sent to people around the country requesting a donation to CFRI so that we can fund research to find a cure for CF. An amazing amount of work goes into this single piece of mail. This winter, an artist from the East Coast painted a beautiful teapot still life for CFRI - this will be turned into the invitation. R.C. Bigelow, Inc. has donated teabags to be enclosed in each envelope. A remit envelope is enclosed requesting a donation for CFRI to fund research. Hundreds of people have signed up to send these invitations of this " virtual tea " to people they know. These volunteers are called Tea Senders. We would love to have you join us as part of this growing group of Tea Senders. Money from this fundraiser accounts for approximately 70% of our income to support our mission. If you would like to be involved, the office can mail to you all of the materials in order to send out invitations. As a tea sender you would choose friends and family to whom you would like to send a tea invitation. We ask you to fill out the invitations and send them back to CFRI. Our office will stamp and mail each invitation out. You might include a photograph or a personal note including news about a CF connection in your life. Every Tea Sender is important whether they send an invitation to two, twenty, or two hundred people! If you would be interested in helping us, we welcome your help. Our office phone is , and our e-mail is cfri@.... Thanks for thinking this over. Warm regards, Carroll C@...
