Guest guest
Just wanted to chime in about the hair cutting of autistic children. I can totally relate. My son was the same way. He was terrified. It was like each hair I cut I was actually cutting him. And forget about taking him to the salon. That would be a disaster. He also used to scream when I would wash his hair, like it hurt him. It probably did. After over a year on SCD and rounds of antifungals he lets me wash his hair, even helps sometimes. He is still afraid of us cutting his hair, but nothing like he used to be. I think he is more afraid of the noise of the clippers than the feel of it. By the way he usually screams when I clean his ears too, but has no problems doing it himself. Everyday is an adventure with an autistic child. I find you never know what child you are getting for the day, or the hour. -Kim Mom to Noah 32 months, SCD since Feb 2005, ASD
