Guest guest
We have had ELISA testing done on our ASD 2 year old, and have eliminted any foods that were deemed intolerable to him. Given that, is it still necessary to do the intro diet? I've done a bit (not a whole lot) of research, and it seems that the intro diet is mostly to take out any foods that may be intolerable so that you can add them back in one at a time, and I'm pretty sure that the outrageously expensive ELISA test from Sage has already covered that for us.... Guest guest
Sonya, The intro diet is actually to give the gut time to rest. You start with the easiest to digest foods and then gradually add new foods going from the easiest to digest to later on getting to the harder to digest foods. You may find that just because your child doesn't have a sensitivity to a certain food, he may still not be able to digest it easily. So, yes, I do still recommend that you start with the intro diet.
