Please help. Can anyone tell me if the prescription digestive enzyme

Ultrase MT-12 is scd legal? this is the prescriptive digestive enzyme

often prescribed by the gastrointestional doc, Arthur Krigsman. I have

a script for the Ultrase. If it is not scd legal, I have been

considering using the Houston's AFP Peptizide. If I understand right,

is this the only Houston's product that is scd legal? Further, does

it only comes in bulk powder? Please help! Rob's mom

According to the pecanbread.com website, the following Houston enzymes are

legal:

Peptizyde

No Fenol

H N-Zyme Prime

I'm sorry, I don't know about the prescription product. You would probably have

to know all the ingredients of the product, fillers, etc.... and check it

against the legal/illegal supplement additives on pecanbread.com under

" supplements " .

I am sorry, I can't answer about your prescription enzyme, but all the Houston's

enzymes have been SCD approved. The rice bran filler listed on the label is

actually rice bran oil, Elaine made them legal. Now, if the rice bran oil were

to bother, they have other versions using a cellulose filler instead. We prefer

the rice bran oil.

If you haven't already, please read " Enzymes for Autism and Other Neurological

Conditions " by DeFelice, her slow method of introduction did the trick for

us. The first time we started enzymes, we just jumped in, and it caused pain,

die off and burning. After reading this book, we tried them the way she

suggests, and it was the golden ticket!

there are no obvious illegals in but you would have to try it

contains enzymes from a pig pancreas and i have always been wary of

animal enzymes becuse theres limits to the heat treatment they can do

and i worry about viruses or parasites, but i could be wrong.

easily the best protease formulation on the market is the straight pep

but it may be better to start with the hn-zyme first

rice bran oil filler seems to work MUCH MUCH better than the

cellulose fillers

i always get the houstonni with rice bran filler and capsules cuase

the powder has to much cellulose in and they keep better in capsules

i either sprinkle the pep or zyme directly on food to be eaten or tip

them down the back of the throat afterwards

no fenol like candex is probably best swallowed in a capsule

from what i have seen the celluose filler does not work, that is, if

you used houstonni enzymes with the cellulose filler you should not

expect them to work

therefore the scd houstonni enzymes are not suitable

the rice bran oil filler works much much better

inattentiveness returned. I was using Houstin enzymes, all three,

depending on the food, but I was using the SCD versions. I was going

to try again with just one enzyme only to see if I can single out which

one was bothering her (I think no fenol) which was the one I was

leasting suspecting. Anyway, when I reintroduce should I use the rice

bran oil enzymes instead? Any input is helpful. Thanks, Eileen

Eileen,

That description sounds like die off from yeast. Have you read the book by

DeFelice, " Enzymes for Autism and Other Neurological Conditions " ? Her

method of enzyme introduction worked for us. We started with 1/8th a capsule,

and slowly worked up, using only one enzyme at a time to monitor reactions.

A good comparison would be much like the way SCD yogurt is started, an 1/8th a

teaspoon. This minimizes the reaction of die off. Also, since many children have

lymph and kidneys working below par, too much die off is taxing to the body,

better to go slow.

I like 's method, I use it for introducing all new foods and supplements,

one thing at a time, not rushing in to gauge against the baseline that we have

established.

>>>My oldest daughter was very hyper on the enzymes and alot of her

inattentiveness returned. I was using Houstin enzymes, all three, depending on

the food, but I was using the SCD versions.<<<

I would try the rice bran oil instead, imo. When we run out of enzymes,

sometimes I get a few Houston's on my co-op order from a local farm, and they

only carry the SCD version (Remember Elaine approved all versions!) and they

never work as well for us as the rice bran oil version.
