Hi Debbie,

I replied to your first question and will reply to this one too. I have

been hospitalized with another person suffering from SOD. I have both

SOD and CP. We both think that Morphine is the way to go. Demerol does

nothing for either of us. On another CP board I belong to the question

was asked there by a nurse at a hospital in the UK with regards to

morphine or demerol. She kept saying her patients wanted the morphine

but the doctors wanted to give demerol. They said the Morphine worked

better for pain than Demerol. It was well noted that the Morphine was

the high winner for both pancreatic pain and SOD pain on the other CP

site. I will try to go back and research the thread for you and send it

to you, just for comparison.

I think it is more of a personal thing. What bothers one, may not

bother another. You had a problem with it. So perhaps you shouldn't

take it. But Demerol doesn't BEGIN to touch the pain I am in when in an

attack and requirering hospitalization. Maybe I am the odd duck out in

this group, but it's morphine for me when I'm in pain.
