My husband said what your husband has is probably more comfortable " You are absolutely right with this. The NJ tube that your husband had is usually designed to be used on a short term basis. As he learned it is hard to resume oral feedings with an NG/NJ tube in place. The NJ tube, which goes into the jejunum, is traditionally weighted at the end, and an NG tube, that goes into the stomach, is not. A J-tube, of course, goes directly into the jejunum.
