Keri,

You wrote, " I have been referred to MN for a TP-ICT, how will that affect my

disability claim, "

I can see where most people would read this and say I would trade my

disability in

to be well any day. But I can also see where your fear is coming from,

because the outcome of the surgery is so unpredictable. The risk that it would

help

is well worth it to have the surgery. If I had to wager my disability on the

outcome, however, I don't think I would do it. (In my current situation). The

fact is, though, your disability isn't based on what procedures you have or

don' t have. It is based on you functional ability to do ADLs. Mine was impaired

due to severe pain and depression.

I am planning on having a living donor pancreas transplant. I hope it helps

some. I am not afraid of that being used to support discontinuing my

disability, though. They would wait and do a formal review and determine my

ability to

do ADLs at that time.
