Dr. Haas had some patients that where so sick they stayed on strict

SCD for two years before adding anything " illegal " . He also states

that this is a healthier way to eat than the Standard American Diet

(SAD) and that these " sick " kids often heal to become stronger and

healthier than thier peers who never where sick with malabsorption

and injured intestines. That many parents of his patients (like

Elaine and her duaghter Judy) never go back to the SAD diet. This is

why Elaine said " one year after the last symptom leaves " , to

introduce illegals slowly. She wanted to inssure that those who

suffered where completely healed.

I now realize that we are lucky that SCD alone is working for us,

and will no longer make comment on those who use other treatments to

help their kids. I will just refer to my own testimony and what

worked for us, and hope for the same respect from others who have

become angry with me.

Antoinette, SCD alone has been successful for us. We have added things like

supplements and enzymes to increase healing beyond what is already

happening. It is just the path we have chosen to take.

Honey I am not judgeing you. We too tried enzymes last year before

SCD. We had disaterous consequences. This does not mean that

everybody would. I now realize this.

From my own experience I bleive If it works do it. If it's not

broken don't fix it. If it is still broken reevaluate what you are

doing. This is what we did for 1 and a half years of nightmare.

Last year when we experimented with other ways...I became so

frustrated and lost hope at times. Just cried. Nothing worked

before SCD.

I was beginning to wonder what would and then had the courage to try

this with the " Fanatical Adherance " that Elaine and Dr. Haas

suggested. and it worked...thank God. We are so fortunate. We are

getting our daughter back. I feared that she might die..let alone

permanently vanish into a delerium. It was getting harder and

harder and taking longer each time she went into one to get her back

to reality. She was starving to death in that little body of hers

and nobody realized it.
