You might find it more informing if you spoke with him over the phone but if you would prefer to start out with a e-mail I know that he will get back with you to answer your questions. I would do as you said and gather all of my information to give to him so he can make a call whether you are a candidate for the TP/ICT. Have you spoken to your GI about the surgery yet? When I had chronic pancreatitis all of the doctors I spoke to didn't want me to have the pancreatectomy and islet cell transplant. I was told by one surgeon that I needed the tail of my pancreas removed. Another surgeon said that I needed a Whipple, another wanted to do a peustow on me, and one said that he wouldn't do any surgery on me since my pancreas showed no signs of disease and I could sue him. You might have better luck with your GI since the TP/ICT is more known by doctors today than it was when I had my surgery in 2000. The hospital is The Fairview University Medical Center, Dr. Sutherland, Department of Surgery, Box 280, 420 Delaware Street S.E. Minneapolis, MN 55455. Good luck with your GI and your medical insurance. Shirley
