Guest guest
Dear , It was good to hear from you again. Thank you for sharing your story about your strange, but hopefully positive SSDI hearing. The way it first began, I was afraid of hearing more bad news, but by the time you finished, it sounded more encouraging. I've done some searching and haven't been able to find what this fatty acid connection is with Premarin. I will search some more, or maybe someone else will have some idea of what this doctor may have been referring to. Meanwhile, if I were you, I wouldn't worry about what a strange doctor who has never examined or treated you has to say about the causes of your medical problems. It's my understanding that Dr. Lehman has an excellent reputation, is an expert in his field and has a long history of treating hundreds of pancreatitis patients, and he would certainly know whether you have CP or not. What specific medical speciality credentials does the SSDI doctor have to make this change of diagnosis? IMHO, in other words, don't worry about what this other doctor says, unless it comes time to make another appeal. Or you could get an appointment to discuss this new diagnosis with Dr. Lehman and see what he says. Do you have your own copy of your medical records? I've kept copies of all of mine, just so I would have the choice of disputing anything said that I disagreed with or wasn't true, like this doctor saying that you were in the psyche ward on suicide watch. That's a doozy, and if you don't have a copy of those records, I suggest you get them to find out what this man was referring to. That in itself, IMHO, would probably help you more than hurt, because it shows that you were experiencing depressive behavior, and I understand that depression is one of the things the SSDI favors as a disabiling cause. But then again, if they are going to consider that, they would also probably recommend some professional psychiatric counseling as a condition of your receiving benefits. So if it were me, I'd want to know what those records say, and be able to defend your position on it. All said and done, it sounds more promising, and I truly hope that you receive your benefits this time. You certainly deserve a break from this stress on top of everything else that you've been through and I hope you hear good news quickly. I hope someone else can help you with your question about the fatty acid and Premarin interaction. I surely couldn't find a thing in my initial search. Try to keep us posted on this, and let us know how it works out. Also try not to let those three girls run you ragged! I only had one girl to go through those teenage years, and she was easy to handle, but it was still a daily concern for me. I remember the things that are SO IMPORTANT to them at that age and have to laugh.....how does my hair look, so and so didn't call, being on the telephone ALL THE TIME, (and this was before call waiting so I went through about four years of missed phone calls), trying on at least three or four outfits every time they leave the house before they get the " right look " , then leaving the clothes discarded all over the bedroom, leaving the bathroom looking like Hurricane Hugo passed through, and with your twins I imagine there's a lot of clothes wars.......It makes me smile just to imagine what it's like in your household! But you're right about the college thing, suddenly they're off on their own and that part REALLY hurts! So great to hear from you again, . Try to keep in touch whenever you can. We really miss hearing from you. With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina SE & SW Regional Representative PAI, Intl. Note: All comments or advice are personal opinion only, and should not be substituted for professional medical consultation. I went to my SSI hearing on Tuesday. Then the doctor spoke. He said after he looked through my file he has came to the conclusion that I DON'T have chronic pancreatitis at all. That whats wrong with me is.......... ......that my blood work " never " shows an elevation of the pancreas enzymes and that one of my blood test are " always " elevated that has to do with... (????) some kind of " fatty acid " that I was born with, he said the name, but can't remember what it was, and that is is aggravated by the premarin that I take. He said that whatever the fatty acid thing is and the premarin is a bad combination and that he feels thats whats wrong with me, not chronic pancreatitis. So, to make a long, very long, story short......does anyone know anything about the " fatty acid " thing that he said I was born with, and the association with premarin? I'll be forever thankful to anyone & everyone who will help me out on this one. Lots of Hugs,
