Go here to compute your BMI: http://clos.net/bodymassindex.htm You need a BMI of 40 with no comorbities (though just about everybody has comorbities, such as arthritis, joint pain, shortness of breath on exertion, high blood pressure, urinary incontinence, sleep apnea . . .) If you have comorbities, you can have a BMI of 35-39. At your height and weight, I get a BMI of 38, all the way up to 248 pounds, when it goes to 39. To hit a BMI of 40, you'd have to chow down and gain up to 255. I had to change insurance companies, too, and we could only do it during " sign up month " each November. So first I had to wait til November. Then the insurance didn't take effect until January. Then it took from January until March 22 to get approved. Then I decided I wanted the MGB, not the original procedure I had thought, so it took another 8 weeks to get all the necessary tests and paperwork and final insurance approval done. I *finally* got my MGB on May 18. Ask me if it was worth it. Hugs! > I currently have DeanCare Insurance which does not cover > any type of weight loss surgery.
