Guest guest
Are you also following the yeast diet? From my understanding, you try and do an anti-yeast routine (diet and/or nystatin) and a probiotic regime (according to Great Plains the best lactobacillus is 20 billion lactobacillus GG which I found in Culterelle). We also give other forms of the good bacteria, too. I'm just not sure that only doing a probiotic will take care of the yeast???? Sorry, I don't know much about Colostrum - just people saying how good it is. The yeast die-off can cause off behavior. In our son, it was resolved in about 3 days. This yeast die-off also caused his poops to go green tinged. > I have been giving my son probiotics (Enterobiotic Plus by Natural > Creations)- 1 capsule day. Guest guest
Has anyone opted to just use pills for their child's probiotic? I am petrified to try the cow's and goat yogurt. The nut yogurt seems like a lot more work (which I don't mind), but I believe the probiotic content is not nearly as high! But the pills don't seem to have too much either. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks Sue 6 yr old son, no more APD?, SCD 8 weeks
Guest guest
Dawnmarie, Is Mindlinx SCD legal? It was recommended for us, but I seem to recall seeing rice starch or something similar in the ingredients. Suzanne > > > > Has anyone opted to just use pills for their child's probiotic? Guest guest
Hi Suzanne, I just finished looking up the ingredients on my HCL Mindlinx bottle and it seems everything is legal... cellulose, silica & magnesium stearate are the only " other " ingredients and they're all listed as legal on the Breaking the Vicious Cycle website. The following are the other active ingredients, which I got from a Mindlinx webpage. It just illustrates how jam-packed this supp is of good stuff (and No, I don't work for Pharmax.. I'm just a mom who got good results with it!) :-) Ingredients: Ingredients per capsule (size 1): (contains no FOS) 8-12 billion strains HLC LAB4 Consortium: Lactobacillus acidophilus (CUL 60) Lactobacillus acidophilus (CUL 21) Bifidobacterium bifidum (CUL 20) Bifidobacterium lactis (CUL 34) Plus Lactobacillus rhamnosus (CUL 341) Lactobacillus crispatus (CUL 221) L-glutamine 250mg (an amino acid) I didn't see anything about rice starch but if you find out differently please repost and let me/us know! Thanks for reminding me, though, that I should double check my supps before offering advice! Have a great night, DM > > > > > > Has anyone opted to just use pills for their child's probiotic? > I am > > petrified to try the cow's and goat yogurt. Guest guest
I think all those ingredients are legal, but there is some debate over the strains in the probiotic. I am shaky in recalling this, but I thought Elaine suggested using a maximum of 3 billion strains in a probiotic. And, if I am not mistaken, she only approved of the acidophilus . . . not those other ones. In addition to that, some listmates (including one of the moderators) have had big problems from the bifidus strain in particular, setting them back quite a bit. So with that in mind, I don't know if those issues make it " illegal " or just " possibly troublesome. " Regardless, if it is working for you, then maybe you should continue. In fact, I want to be the first one to know if you find it successful. Yogurt is out for us for a very long time. And I know that rotating probiotics can be a beneficial thing. And since 2 of the " legal " probiotics are not options for us, I am left with one and nothing to rotate. Keep us posted! Jeni Lynn (gastrointestinal problems) SCD 2 months mom to Margeaux, 6 yr.
