Guest guest
We are getting ready to begin SCD after months of contemplation and waiting for a rough semester of hubby's school to end. I have finally decided to bite the bullet since he is about home free at this point. I wondered if the different nut flours are interchangable in recipes? I noticed that some flours are quite a bit cheaper and honestly with a family of 6 that is an issue. Is it better to buy whole nuts and grind them yourself or buy the flour? I am assuming (maybe wrong as I am tired) that a pound of nuts will not yield a pound of flour, so is it actually a better bargain to buy the flour? Also, what is the thinking on the dry curd cottage cheese and ghee? Are these things I can give a casein free child? We did a peptide test and his casein was SKY HIGH! He was negative on gluten, but I know that is not always reliable. He is currently casein free and soy free as we move toward SCD. Thanks, Laurie
