Guest guest
Although my husband is gentle in his approach, he annoys me to no end when he scrutinizes what I eat. He thinks he's being helpful and I want to scream! Yesterday we were in the car with the kids and they were eating fruit roll-ups and I took a tiny little bite of one and you would think I ate a bowl of table sugar. " I don't think you should eat that, that's alot of sugar in that, and why waste your calories on that... " I put my hand on his knee and as nice as can be I said " I know what I can and can't eat. You do not need to watch over my food intake. " I believe he got the message and has stopped being the food watcher. As post-ops we and only we are in control of what goes in our mouth. These first few months are a learning period and we may make mistakes but that is part of the learning curve. I crave fresh fruit everyday and I eat it 3 to 4 times a day.It is a very good food choice. I don't eat meat or poultry so I have a protein shake in the morning then some yogurt later on and sometimes a protein shake at night too. I get plenty of protein. As far as his " jab " at weighing twice what you should, that was just plain mean and you need to tell him that you need his support, not his criticism.
