Guest guest
Taking a page from 's book: My name is Aimee, and I also am 33. I have just gone back to school, studying Arts Management, after leaving a job with a trade association here in DC. I am a former actor/singer (regional theater, mostly California and the Northwest); I, too, am a loving and moderately beloved daughter and auntie. I've kicked most of my bad habits (not without some regrets), so being sarcastic and cranky are really my remaining indulgences (except for bread - life without the periodic great loaf of sourdough is just not worth the effort.) I'm still looking for a PCP to refer me for the surgery - and thanks so much for all the advice and encouragement! I come from a family of extremely vain women, and I'm no different - I loathe not being able to move freely, and my affair with my mirror is decidely love-hate. I've spent my life " failing " at diets, and at 300# its a wonder I have no major health problems. I have a family history of diabetes (7 first or second degree relatives, 3 of whom have died from complications), and I don't intend to become another statistic. I also don't intend to have to hear that " such a pretty face, if only " rubbish ever again. You all make me believe it can happen - and I love you for it! --Aimee
