Hello all,

I have a question to ask. Perhaps it's more of an opinion I am

seeking from anyone. I have no doctor right now. I have been

diagnosed with severe chronic pancreatitis. I also have another

diagnosis of moderate to severe chronic pancreatitis. I suffer from

SOD also. I have no doctor because 1 of them says he will only treat

me if I have lots of surgery and I don't want it. The other (last)

doctor I have seen says there once was something wrong but I am

" cured " now. I know better than that! I have been to 3 specialists

and all concur that with my condition. They just don't agree on

treatment.

Here goes the question. I was completly stressed out before I went on

my cruise. Had lots of pain from the old pancreas. I tried to eat

low fat on the cruise but must admit I did succomb (sp) to the tasty

temptations on the ship. I got home and got on the scale and saw that

I had gained 5 pounds. Desprate to lose weight I have gone off my

pancrelipase pills for 1 week now. In fact, I didn't even take them

on a regular basis on the ship. I have been eating higher fats than

normally I would have and have been having relativly little problems.

I do feel pressure from my Spincter of Oddi though.

I have come home to more stress than I left with and I am not sure

what my body is telling me now. I am not having the pains that I

normally had before the cruise. Can my CP go into a " remission " of

sorts that would allow me to eat as I please without the problems? Is

this going to catch up to me? I had a Krispy Kreme donut this morning

and I even ate cheese ravioli with lots of mozzalrella cheese tonight.

Had a little bread and butter too. If I had eaten that 2 or 3 weeks

ago it would have put me in MAJOR pain for the night. Eating is

becoming like before I got sick. It seems I can eat almost anything

anymore without too much trouble. Is this normal? I have MAJOR

cravings for sweets lately. They are almost uncontrolable. Could my

pancreas have " burned out " to the point I won't feel the pain anymore?

I am not sure whats going on here with my body. Any input would be

helpful as I am not sure where to turn.

Thanks so much,

Sandy
