You bring back memories talking about this. Eddie & Greg were on IV

antibiotics for 10 days, once in 2002 and once in 2000.

I had to bring my own enzymes with me. The nurses would

just " eventually " bring their enzymes into the room. By that time the

food was ice cold. I just kept their enzymes and used my own.Once

they didn't even have the right ones and didn't understand why I

couldn't use theirs.

As for chest PT. Forget it. I can't believe those people actually get

paid. Lazy, lazy, lazy. I think their shift was always about to end.

They had no idea the positions or anything. I had to watch them,

couldn't even take a break and leave the room.

And as for the nurses. Very nice. When they weren't yelling at my

boys for running up and down hall. I just laughed. And kept

saying " They need to stay active " . My boys really tore it up in there

though. I didn't care. After all they were going through in the

hospital, if they play and have fun when they weren't on an IV, was

fine with me.

Boy do I know how you feel. Many times Ihave had to use our own

meds. Partly because the pharmacy didn't have or carry what we used.

I have had to go behind Resp. therapy and do what they didn't . WE

got smart and started taking our own vest. (luggage carriers are

great with a bungie strap or even duct tape to hold the vest on).

OUr most recent adventure was gettign a picc placed has had

12 and I have there to hold her hand for every one. But since the

last one was a bit more difficult she was having it done

underfloroscopy , which at our previous hospital I was there for

thaat one too. Gowned and masked. But the new hospital wasn't goooing

to let me be with her. I stood my ground and told them she won't

cooperate if you don't let me go. I WON. and after having tubes put

in her nose after sinus surg. for Tobramycin irragation the head Dr

had told the resident dr under him to take them out later on a

particular day and after had counted the hours that day he

didn't come back so I had the nurse page him and he had left fo the

day and would do it tomorrow is what he said. I had the head dr. page

and he called the res. dr and had him come back to the hospital at 9

pm to do his job. No to gloat too much but I love to win. when my

kids are involved.
