Guest guest
Welcome! I am sorry that you are having doctor troubles, I think most of us have been there a time or two. I know how frustrating and confusing this time can be. It took me about 3 years to get my chronic pancreatitis diagnosis. My lab work, ultrasounds and CT's were always normal. It wasn't until I had surgery in 2000 that the surgeon removed the tail of my pancreas due to inflammation. He said I had a " touch " of pancreatitis but it should never bother me again. All tests prior to the surgery showed a " healthy " pancreas. It wasn't until October of 2002 that I got my official diagnosis. Even with the removal of the tail of my panc due to inflammation it wasn't until my third GI that I got the diagnosis. I think he was even a bit skeptical at first. Then I developed a pseudocyst, and that changed his mind. IMO you need to just keep pushing for answers. This disease is very hard to diagnose sometimes. I am walking proof that the tests can be misleading. I wish you luck finding proper medical care. I almost forgot.......could you tell us your name and where you live? The name just so we can greet you properly, and where you live because someone may live near you and have good GI recommendation. Sending lots of happy thoughts your way...... Guest guest
Hello everyone. I am a 27 y/o Female. I have ulcerative colitis and have had pancreatitis in 2001. I am still continuing to have the very same problems I have had in the past. I can not find a dr that will help me. They come up with this off the wall kinda stuff. I have been to the ER several times and admitted only once(dec. 2001). I am having all the classic symptoms again...and have been sice late april..I am getting the run around. My gi refused to see me and I had to go to another, this one is as dumd as a rock). He thinks it is my liver (well, hello...u have no pain with liver diseases.) I have had so many blood tests and mri's it is unreal. I am so tired and I want to give up...I need some help. I was fired from my last job b/c I missed 5 hrs going to dr's and ER). My husband is on me to get another job, but it is so hard to work with this nasty stuff...and you don't know how it is until you go through it! I also have a young 3 y/o daughter that I have to take care of even while I have these " attacks " that are supposedly in my HEAD!
Guest guest
Hi, I wanted to let you know that I havent been able to keep a job for over a year now and have been denied disability twice now. If the pain gets worse you might not be able to keep a job very easily (sorry if i sound negative) work as much as you can now because i think the social security people look at work history and i dont have much of one because at first i stayed home to raise my 4 daughters and then when i was ready to work my panc. got worse. I am 29 years old and i guess too young to get help. I hope things get better for you. Does your husband understand about the pain and other problems with panc.? Guest guest
Dear , Since I just processed your subscription, I remember that you are from Tennessee. Diane Hollis is your State Rep, and she can be reached at: dhollis062@... She may know of a gastroenterologist for your area, or may know of one that you might have to travel to. No one should have to go through all that you have, but unfortunately it does happen too often. Sometimes we have to go through three or more doctors before we find one that will listen and take action with our problems and symptoms. Whatever you do, don't give up. Help can be found. Please keep posting and let us know how else we can help you. With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina SE & SW Regional Rep. PAI, Intl.
