Guest guest
Hello all, My name is Esther and I'm new to this group. My husband has suffered from pancreatitis for over 20 years now. At this time his pancreas is totally shot, he is a brittle diabetic and is down to 123 lb. He is 5'8 " tall and is on a totally fat free diet. As far as I'm concerned the doctors in this smaller town (25,000- Oregon) are killing him. He's 47 years old and I don't think he is going to make it 3 months. I'm scared to death that I'm going to loose him soon. He is in pain constantly, can't eat because it hurts so much. He is on durogestic patches and norco for the pain. How can I get him to gain some weight without making him hurt more and mess up his blood sugars? Please help us I can't get any help from this town. Thank you Esther
Guest guest
Hello Esther, Welcome to the group. You didn't say part of Oregon you are in. I have in-laws in Brownsville. Only one Dr. in the town. My father in law had a cancer tumor removed last year at the University hospital and they were wonderful maybe try there. I am sure others will post with suggestions. Also we have a drug store in California called Rite-aid and they have a boost type drink for diabetecs. It doesn't taste too bad maybe try that. Good luck I hope someone here can give you good referal for a DR in your area.
