Dear Okie, No, you did not say anything wrong to me. I know what

depression can do and I do not blame her at all for feeling the way

she does. But I also know that it is no life for her children and

as long as will not seek help for herself, she can never be any

better. And I know that she is the only one who can do it for

herself. We can all lock the doors, shut people out, lay in our own

pity and pain, but in the end, it only makes things worse. I have

not been as ill as but I have gone thru a lot in life and I

have also had my times of depression. There were even a few times

that I was not the Mother I should have been when my children were

young, but I do remember I never gave up and never kept them locked

inside a dark house or kept them from school and school activities.

I made myself see that they lead as much a normal life as possible.

I know that will continue to be depressed until she can get

help and that is what I am trying to get her to do now. I do think

there is help for her if she will only seek it and I dont give up, I

will keep on trying to get her to realize this as long as I have a

breath left in me. That is a Mother. But she also is a Mother and

it is time she thought of those children now. Their lifes are being

ruined. I dont mean anything mean towards her in saying this, I

just want her to get herself some help so that she can be a real Mom

to those kids and lead a more normal life for herself. Im not God

and he only knows what lies ahead for her or for me, but I will

never stop trying to make her realize it lies in her hands as to

what happens to her and to the kids.

I wish you well and hope that you can get some relief and help too.

Have you considered the surgery? Dont shut your Mom out,,she will

always be there for you no matter what. Maybe you aslo need to seek

some help with the depression and what you are going thru. I will

keep you in my thoughts and hope you have better days. Jean
