Heidi,

I was reading through the archives and saw that you wrote, " A friend of mine

from another Pancreatitis support group just wrote to me the exciting news

that she's having the Pancreatectomy with auto islet transplant done at the

Barrett Cancer Center at University of Cincinnati this month. "

Would you please check with this person and any others that may have had the

TP/ICT surgery and invite them to sit on the discussion panel at the

Symposium. Anybody else who may know of someone who may be interested, please

let me

know. Anyone who had it done in Ohio would probably be close enough to attend

since Ohio is so close to Indy. Of course, I realize people drive very lkong

distances to go to different facilities, so that doesn't always mean they live

nearby.

Shirley and Sue will be telling their stories. The allotted time will allow

for four or five more people to tell their story followed by a disucssion. I

was hoping Gail and Crystal would be able to come. is wants to come, but

has not made a solid commitment. I have talked to about Mikalem and her

coming. That would be absolutely wonderful if Mikalem would be able to present,

since we will have another adolescent attending who is interested in the

surgery. I also sent Kathy Beck an email, but haven't heard back from her. Bert

will have returned to work by then.

Any other ideas?

Karyn E. , RN,

Exec. Director, PAI
