I used something I knew she wanted every single time, that way there was no

guessing to see if she really wanted it and then I would say K look at me.

Do you want the marker, I said to her? At first she just tried to grab it

but, I said say yes and I will give you the marker. I also held my hand an

inch or so away from her mouth expecting to feel her breath on my hand as

she started to say something. That was her clue after that. She caught on

and knew when I did that, she needed to say something. I do have to repeat

myself many times for each task but, she is learning and growing. God

Willing!! The goal was to not give it to her until she said yes and then I

would reward her for saying it by saying good job Kali that's what I want to

hear. You said Yes. You want the marker. It took hours the first time and a

little less time each time after that. I have to ask her if she wants more.

Sometimes she will say more back to me but, only if she was looking, paying

attention and really wanted more. I am trying to get her to say please and

thank you but, not yet. It's like she can't remember what you asked of her

or anything complicated. I sometimes even have to leave out the the's in the

middle of a sentence.

She was not doing very good in gym because of the overstimulation, the

noise, the kids etc. but, now she enjoys being a part of the games and

stuff. She has severe sensory issues. She used to pinch my knuckles so much

that they bled and I knew if I didn't let her do it to me then, she would be

doing it to herself or someone else. Her pinching comes and goes with the

yeast. It is not painful anymore though. She only pinches lightly now. I

don't think I can try any harder myself getting her language to come. She

definitely has some kind of mental block. We may need some extra help with

this. Jenn & K Re: KiKi Update and 3 questions
