Guest guest
I started a new job 5 months ago and after being there for two months or so I noticed my ocular rosacea was getting worse. This move to the job coincided with giving up Jane Iredale (finally admitted defeat, soothing but also the cause of my itching!). I started wearing Chantecaille Future skin Foundation instead which is possibly one of the only foundations I can use without itching. Anyway, I do not know whether to put it down to the job (environment, stress etc) or the make up but I can feel the burning in my face, I feel the inflammation rise and for several months now the cheeks have been very sore to touch on a daily basis, and the eye area. This tenderness (like if I gently scratch my cheek all the nerves feel exposed, alive and painful) has risen up my cheeks and seems to be affecting under my eyes. The skin around my eyes now seems to be further implicated. When I clean my eyes I can see that there are veins, and the rim becomes very red, the skin directly underneath my eyelashes is very tender. It does calm down somewhat after the cleansing but I can feel it throughout the day and if I dare to touch my cheeks or the under of my lashes...ouch! There is one area midway along the lower lids on the skin which is very red and sore (like I have bad sunburn in that spot which never goes away!). The inner corner of the left eye also feels funny, like it is more prone to getting bloodshot, gummy etc It is starting to depress me badly. I have meibomian gland dysfunction too and my ophth want me to do warm soaks to loosen the oils but my skin is so sore. What can I do? Any ideas for alternatives to warm soaks? Is my face hurting because of the rosacea? or might I have a prolonged viral infection? When I see my doctor he never gives me answers and says he does not know who to refer me to!! Could my face and eyes be sore because of the foundation (but strangely without it my face and eyes feel worse, they react more...perhaps because they are exposed to the elements....I am saying that though the make up may irritate the problems encountered without its protection might be the lesser of two evils?? I want to continue to wear eye make up because this crap is so demoralising taht although I do not want to further damage I feel so depressed about my appearance without my make up (esp mascara) that I will wear it until my eyes literally win the fight! Could sinus pain do this to me or tiredness? Can Tony D tell me his diet or direct me to the message in the archives? Could Marjorie L please tell me the combo she takes of flax and cottage cheese?? or direct me to her message in the archives? Can any one empathise with this? recommend anything for this? (eg, lifestyle, diet, supplements, advice of any sort???) I keep getting head aches too which seems to start on the right hand side of my head but extend to the entire head, in my ears and everything. Can any one rec a really gentle eye make up remover with no mineral oil or fragrance? gentle eye pencils, shadow and in particular non-irritating mascara? Please help...my eyes and face pain and looks are really upsetting me. Thanks in advance, ShellGet more from the Web. That's not me, Shelley. No one here can know how bad your symptoms are, or what component is rosacea vs irritative dermatitis, and I certainly understand your desire to continue wearing make-up. But if that's causing and/or perpetuating your symptoms, then continuing to use eye and skin makeup may be more self-defeating than you realize. Statistically, what we rosaceans put on our faces is far and away the most likely source of irritation compounding our rosacea. Guest guest
pure emu oil. I've been using it for a couple years now. It's soothing and gets the makeup off.
