Guest guest
Hi everyone, As usual, I read most of your e-mails on a regular basis but post infrequently. First of all, a big Thank You to Grandma Bev for all of the cf resources you sent to me. I am a foster Mom to Shaelin, a 2 yo wcf who my husband and I are hoping to adopt. He has actually been doing fairly well since his sinus surgery back in November and since then has cultured negative for pseudomonas which has been great as he had been on TOBI on alternate months for more than one year. It has been a great break! I do have a couple of questions. Shailin has recently been started on Pulmozyme and uses the Pari Nebulizer. When I used it for the TOBI, I removed the blue valve from the top of the nebulizer per company recommendation, as the TOBI was taking over 50 minutes. The nebulizer I got with the pulmozyme has a blue valve on the cap of the cup in addition to a y-connecter with an additional valve, which then attaches to the mask. Is there a reason why the y-connector is used with the pulmozyme and not the other meds and should I also be using the blue valve that is in the cap. For all of those who are new, you have joined a great group and will find lots of support and valuable information by being part of it.
