Guest guest
Hi Amber, Keep in mind that an SCD diet is for digestive wellness, not autism. Digestion issues are a huge concern for kiddos with asd, therefore the scd diet will help. Children with asd also have issues with gluten, casien, molds, etc. So in our home we have layed the scd diet over our GFCF ST CF EF, etc diet lifesylye. Since mushrooms are a fungus and many kiddos with asd have fungus issues, mushrooms should be avoided, IMO. That doesn't mean that they are illegal on SCD. As it has been mentioned time and time again, each child is individual.... us, we still need to be all our other diets PLUS scd. Does that make any sense? Feel free to email me privatly if you have any questions on how to integrate several dietary approaches. Mushroom, being pure fungus, would just feed their problems, wouldn't they? I've seen a few times now, mushroom recipes posted. I've been staying away frim mushrooms, because they feed yeast- do you know something about mushrooms that I don't?? Thanks. > > , I found what Carol had posted about the mushrooms. Guest guest
Hi , it kind of makes sense. I'm pretty new to all of this diet thing. I hope you're serious about e-mailing you privately about how to integrate several dietary approaches, because that would really help me out a lot. Thanks. Amber. new and confused. > > Hi Amber, > Keep in mind that an SCD diet is for digestive wellness, not autism. > Digestion issues are a huge concern for kiddos with asd, therefore the scd > diet will help. Guest guest
I agree... one of the reasons I appreciate pecanbread, because it's attempted to customize SCD for ASD kids. I haven't finished it yet,... but Dr. -McBride's book 'Gut and Psychology Syndrome' is written for SCD customized for ASD and other psychological conditions.
